CHOLLA MAZE FOREST |
A stay-on-the-path experience through the cholla forest maze will encourage visitors to confront their fears about proximity to cactus stickers and will give a sense of accomplishment at successful navigation through the spiny labyrinth.
Vonn's original proposed design, shown below, is about 60 feet wide by 180 feet long. His design has been implemented but modified to allow more exits for safety reasons.

They serve as one of the primary habitats for birds, especially for our Cactus Wren, the Arizona State bird.
The Cholla Maze Forest provides a wonderful palette of great flower colors due the the variety of plants. Some buds are picked to garnish salads and add color to other food dishes.
