November 2022 Pop-Up Tour Schedule

(Detailed Addresses for this 2-part tour will be emailed to members the week before the tour.)

In November we are going southwest of town for the opportunity to see the special collections of two of our members. They are located near each other so we have put them on the same tour. We hope you'll be able to take advantage of this chance to see the unique cactus and succulents that they have acquired and propagated.

This tour will be our last for 2022.  If you are interested in having your personal Desert Garden on tour in 2023, please scroll down to find the application and contact information.

BYRON'S DESERT GARDEN

OCTOBER 22nd TOUR - 9am to 1pm (in Sahuarita with Green Valley bonus)

Enjoy this one-acre landscape packed full of mature potted and in-ground specimens plus an abundant area of propagated plants that will inspire anyone wanting to grow their own plants. While you are in the area, we hope you have time to attend the Green Valley Gardeners’ “Art-in-the-Park” & Sale at Desert Meadows Park. This amazing park got its start with plants rescued by TCSS volunteers and has grown to a lush mature community asset. This annual event should be a fun experience for art and plant lovers.

LYNN'S DESERT GARDEN

OCTOBER 29th TOUR - 9am to 1pm (near Tanque Verde and Camino Principal)

Allow plenty of time to wander through the many paths in this five-acre botanical creation. There are unending visual treats at every turn for every lover of plants. The owner’s vision was to create an English garden with cactus and succulents replacing the usual flowering plants. Mission accomplished in grand style.

Lynn's Garden Tour (not a TCSS Tour)

Note: If you would like to share your desert garden on a future Pop-Up Tour, please fill out the
"Pop-Up" Tour Application

You can choose any Saturday during the year. We already have a couple signed up for Fall 2022 and look forward to adding more to the line-up.
We just need a couple of months' notice to get everything in place for a tour. We hope you might consider sharing your garden with the TCSS membership. If you have any questions, please email GardenTours@tucsoncactus.org

The Garden Tour Committee has decided to vary the format of our annual tour and plan a year of “Pop-Up Tours”. These will be individual garden tours on scheduled Saturdays throughout the year per the owners choice. Normally there will be only one garden on the tour but possibly two if they are in close proximity. Members who would like to share their desert landscapes with other members can let us know and we will arrange, and make announcements for a tour just at your home. You can choose any Saturday during the year that isn’t taken to showcase your garden at its best.

Please just give us at least six weeks’ notice so that we can get the word out in our monthly newsletter. On the day of your “Pop-Up Tour” please plan to have your desert garden available for Members and their Guests Only to tour from 10am to 2pm.

For more information or to reserve a date for your “Pop-Up” please fill out the Application Form.  For questions or more information, please contact our committee at GardenTours@TucsonCactus.org.

These tours don't happen without hours of volunteer work - view these job descriptions to see how you might help.

If you can help with any of these tasks, email gardentours@tucsoncactus.org
