TUCSON CACTUS AND SUCCULENT SOCIETY |
Baja Garden |
A new Garden Area started in late 2017 to showcase cactus and succulents from the lower part of the Sonoran Desert in Mexico, Baja California. The garden is located up on the hill next to Saguarohenge. Take the Saguarohenge path and when you are at the top turn left between the two Cardon Cactus (tall spears that look similar to the Saguaro) The biggest cactus in Baja is the Cardon which looks similar to our Saguaro but often has arms extending from the main trunk much lower and can get much larger that our biggest Saguaro.
A couple of photos to show the difference between mature Saguaro (on left) and mature Cardon (on right).
These two plants are not in the park.
